Details Make the Difference
Dalzells Tournament Record
Jack Dalzell was one of Secret Weapon Lures first field testers and its first ProStaff member. When not out on a tournament trail, you can usually find Jack on Lake Erie and other regional hot spots or at sportsmen's shows and events passing on his love of bass fishing and the tips and techniques that build confidence and increase learners catches of black bass.
Dalzel is in the top ranks of the BFL, finishing tenth in the 2005 Everstart Northeast Division championship on Lake Erie.
Major corporate sponsors:
Shimano, Secret Weapon Lures, Yo-Zuri, Humminbird, Seaguar Fluorocarbon, Teleflex Marine, Mustad, Uncle Josh, and Culprit.
Lure Preferences
When Jack saw prototypes of the Secret Weapon spinnerbait, he was overwhelmed by the simplicity and ingenuity of these baits, declaring them to be the first major redesign in spinnerbaits since the inception of the safety pin style. Read the review he wrote
Pros Tip
- Line Spooling and Soaking
Pre-stretching monofilament line does wonders to the fishability of it and can also take some older line and make them behave better.
- Rigging a Culprit Woolly Booger
The Culprit Woolly Booger© is fast becoming my go to bait. I have found that this bait provokes rod snapping bites when the fishing seems tough.
- Carolina-Rigging a Floating Tube I use a Carolina rigged floating tube often for Lake Erie smallmouth and it catches alot of fish when the wind kicks up.
- Pitching Crankbaits I like to pitch crankbaits into places that other anglers throw spinnerbaits to such as laydowns, stumps and brushpiles.
